Helping students find accommodation (AILE)
To support all students receiving the €1 meal scheme (with or without a grant) who need to find an apartment in the private sector, the City of Paris is offering assistance of between €500 and €1,000.
AILE is a municipal housing subsidy that helps students cover the costs of moving in, such as the purchase of household appliances, furniture, computer equipment, etc.
Presentation of the installation assistance
Access to a first home is a decisive step towards independence. That's why the City of Paris has set up a special scheme to help students living in the capital: Aile: aide à l'installation dans un logement pour les étudiants. It is renewed every year and managed by the CROUS de Paris. A student can benefit from it once during his or her entire course.
This benefit, worth between 500 and 1,000 euros, is designed to help students meet the costs inherent in moving in, such as buying furniture.
Who can benefit from the installation aid?
To qualify for this municipal housing assistance (AILE), students must meet the following conditions:
- Be a scholarship holder on social criteria / or a beneficiary of the ASAA - Aide Spécifique Allocation Annuelle from the Crous de Paris, Créteil et Versailles / any beneficiary of the €1 meal scheme (scholarship holders or not)
- Be enrolled in a higher education establishment in the Paris, Créteil or Versailles académies
- Hold a rental contract for Parisian accommodation signed between April1, 2024 and March 31, 2025. Please note: EXCLUDING subsidized student residences
- Students in shared accommodation eligible for AILE must appear on the lease in order to benefit from AILE. Please note: this does not apply to shared student residences.
