Between the Eye and the Work

Cultural mediation

"Entre L'Œil et l'Œuvre" is a project led by Charlène Dominguez, a student in the Master of Scenography program at ENSAD. It's a participatory device, halfway between exhibition and artistic experimentation, inspired by David Hockney's book Savoirs Secrets, in which art history and science history come together through the use of optical tools in painting. The public is invited to take a fresh look at the works in an exhibition, using the instruments at their disposal to produce their own creations. This project invites everyone to adopt an artistic approach and practice at the heart of museums. The drawings produced will then be exhibited and compiled in an artist's book.

Meet The Artist

"Meet the artist" is a project by C.O PROD, a production company specializing in audiovisual communication projects. C.O PROD was founded by Coline Harlay, a videographer and Cultural Engineering Masters student, and Oona O'Brien, a videographer, editor and graphic designer. This contemporary art medium films and produces interviews with contemporary artists, enabling them to present their way of working, explain their approaches and inspirations, and exhibit their work. The video series also aims to promote contemporary art to an uninformed public, breaking down the clichés that may persist in the field.

Yay!

Cultural mediation

"Yé!" (the Bambara word for tree) offers scientific and cultural workshops for schoolchildren, helping them to discover their environment in a different way. The project is led by Lucile Cornet Richard, an interior architect and designer from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris. These experiments, both technical and artistic, enable young people to draw up resource maps: human, plant and structural, and contribute to the ecological restoration of schools while creating a better way of living together. Jwá's activities help to open up the school to the outside world, forging links with local partners to support teenagers in their learning and give them the tools they need at a time of life often marked by vulnerability and sometimes emotional isolation.

The Art Society

Cultural association

"The Art Society is an association under the French law of 1901, created by Ines Leygue and project leader Lisa Cophignon, a Sciences Po and Ecole du Louvre double-master's student. This artistic and cultural medium for students is designed to share, promote and democratize art and culture. Through its social networks, and Instagram in particular, "The Art Society" publishes a variety of content, including videos, podcasts or interviews with artists, analyses of works of art, or recommendations for cultural activities and visits. The medium's aim is to create a community of art enthusiasts and extend its reach by setting up virtual masterclasses with speakers from the world of culture and the arts.

Matter3

Clothing design

Formerly known as "See Weed", Matter3 is a project to create a clothing line by Ziyue Chen, a graduate of the Master Mode et Matière program at ENSAD. Ziyue rethinks manufacturing techniques in the polluting textile industry through research into new bio-plastic materials combined with the recycling of old fabrics.
